Fall 2017 to present

This project combines my love of drawing, botanicals, cooking and writing letters. When I moved from Des Moines to Los Angles in November of 2017 I had no job, lots of time on my hands, and missed the community I had built in Des Moines. Combining my desire to make art with the desire to connect, I created drawings inspired by the colorful botanics around Los Angeles. I then sent the drawings to a handful of people – some close friends, some people I had just met, and some I had lost touch with. After receiving the drawing, I requested they send me a recipe inspired by the colors, lines and textures.

I’m slowly cooking the recipes and documenting my process through scanned images of the ingredients to be compiled in the future.
